Graphic Novel Writing workshop

“Idea to Book” is a creative writing workshop that walks children through the main steps of developing a graphic novel and leads them through exercises to come up with a story idea and a draft opening scene.

Inspirational Guest Speaker Presentation

“Cultivating Hope and Action in the Climate Change Era” is an inspirational and at times humourous and touching talk, delivered by Paul Shore, which tells the story-behind-the-story of why he and his creative partners took on the challenge of creating an uplifting children’s graphic novel about climate action. Paul’s presentation also touches on the power of storytelling; provides a overview of the complicated process of developing a graphic novel from scratch; and provides suggestions to educators about how they might incorporate lessons about climate action and hope into their classrooms.
